Tuesday, June 10 strike widened: no NS trains nationwide

Last modified: June 09, 2025 11:00 AM

Due to a strike organized by the unions in large parts of North Holland, South Holland, Zeeland and West Brabant, no NS trains will run nationwide on Tuesday, June 10.

Earlier, unions FNV and CNV announced they would strike in the southwest of the Netherlands on Tuesday. Trade union VVMC reported on sunday that it will also strike next Tuesday in most of North Holland.

To offer passengers outside the original strike region a reliable and safe journey, NS had already adjusted the timetable. Because there is now a strike in a larger area, we cannot offer a reliable timetable. The strike area has become too large, almost all trains pass through this area. Nationwide impact is unavoidable. NS regrets the consequences for passengers.

International trains
On tuesday, June 10, there will be considerably less international trains than usual to and from the Netherlands. International passengers can see which international trains are running on nsinternational.com. Only passengers with an international ticket will be able to travel on international trains on Tuesday, June 10.

Amsterdam - Schiphol
During the strike, train traffic will remain between Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport. A Sprinter will run four times an hour in both directions between Amsterdam Centraal and Hoofddorp via Schiphol Airport.

NS will resume normal service on Wednesday
On Wednesday, June 11, NS will maintain regular service as much as possible. There might be some inconvenience for passengers in the morning after the strike. We advice is to consult the NS app just before departure and to turn on notifications in the NS app.

Possible more strikes
Unions have announced more regional strikes for the coming period. Given current developments, it is uncertain what the impact of these will be.
