Forgot to check-in or check-out

Sometimes checking in or out doesn't go well. For example, because you forget to check out. Don't worry, we explain what you can do in your situation.

Refunds for delays

We understand how irritating it is to experience a delay on your train journey in the Netherlands, so we offer a refund for delays of 30 minutes or more.

Refunds for a forgotten OV-chipkaart

If you paid too much for your journey because you forgot your OV-chipkaart or NS-Business Card, then you may request a refund for the extra amount.

Requesting an OV-verklaring

If you pay your own expenses for travelling to work, you can apply for a travel deduction from the Tax Authority. For this, you will need an OV-verklaring (public transport statement) or a travel statement.

Money debited by NLOV

Do you see a debit on your bank account that starts with NLOV followed by 14 numbers and letters? Then you have (accidentally) traveled with your debit card.
